Safety Valve Test Tag

The Safety Valve Test Tag is used to prevent the safety valve spindle from lifting and keep the safety valve tight while the system pressure exceeds the set pressure.

Sometimes users may find out there's a hole on the top cap of  some safety valves. Actually that's just a test tag hole which is used for Shell Pressure Test  for the Safety Equipment in the pipelines. Generally the Equipment Shell Test Pressure is about 1.1 times higher than the safety valve's Max Working Pressure.  This Testing pressure is much higher than the Safety Valve's Setting Pressure.  That's to say, the safety valve will open easily while testing the equipment. If users want to test the equipment without dismantling the safety valve from the pipeline, they can use that test tag to stop the safety valve from relieving pressure. Under this condition, the safety valve with test tag performed as a Blind Flange and it's unnecessary for users to change the safety valve into a blind flange while testing. After Testing, the Test Tag should be removed. That's to say, that hole on the top cap of the safety valve won't affect the safety valve application. 

Simply speaking, the Safety Valve Test Tag is used for:

---- To Perform Pressure Tests in a system without dismantling of the safety valve.

---- The individual adjustment of safety valves installed in the same system.

Note: After Testing, the Test Tag should be removed otherwise the safety valve cannot protect the system against unallowable overpressure!
