The selection of the safety valves’ nominal diameter

The safety valves’ nominal diameter should be selected according the demanded discharging capacity of the protected system. That is, the rated discharging capacity of the selected safety valve should be more than or almost close to the demanded discharging capacity. The demanded discharging capacity of the protected system refers to the medium amount that the protected system has to discharge so as to avoid the overpressure when the pressure exceeded.

It’s decided by the system or equipment’s working condition, capacity as well as the reasons which may cause overpressure, etc.

The Selection of the safety valves’ material

While selecting safety valves’ material, the medium working temperature, working pressure, medium property, the manufacturability and cost effectiveness of the material should be considered. Generally users can select the safety valves according to the working temperature, pressure range, applicable medium, etc. of the safety valves with different models presented in our safety valve catalogs.

The selection of the special safety valves

The safety valve with Heat Radiator

Such safety valves are generally uses for high temperature working condition so as to lower the temperature of the spring chamber. Generally when the working pressure of the safety valve with closed bonnet is over 300 Deg C and when the working pressure of the safety valve with open bonnet is over 350 Deg C, heat radiators should be used.

The safety valves with Bellows

For the safety valves which suffer extra back pressure and the back pressure value is not stable or the change amount is over 10% of the setting pressure, bellows should be used. Besides this, when the safety valve is used in corrosive medium, bellows should also be used so as to prevent the spring and the guiding parts from being corroded.
